Interculturalidad y la Equidad de Género ante la Migración Jornalera Rarám uri. Relaciones Sociales y Exclusión en una Región Frutícola

Abstrac

Much has been researched and contributed regarding diverse migratory processes, mainly from academia; however, this book is relevant because it rescues and exposes the characteristics and particularities of internal, domestic, migration of one of the ethnic groups from the “deep México”: the Rarámuri people of Sierra Tarahumara. Among the valuable and interesting aspects of this work is the following: a) it presents the current problematic of Rarámuri families as migrant agricultural workers in one of the states and of one city that has the largest national apple production –Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua–, considered an attraction pole of greater demand for labor; and, on the other, it involves and commits civil society organizations (organizaciones de la sociedad civil, OSC) and other public institutions to establish an inter-cultural dialogue with the Rarámuri migrant population, with the aim of boosting processes of sustainable human development.
